      jub say daikha hay shaam aankhon mein

      tub say meray qayaim hawas nahin

      meray lehjay mein us ki khushbo hay

      us ki baaton mein meri baas nahin

      Jitna Shaffaf hay tera aanchal

      Utna ujla mera libaas nahin

      samnay meray aik darya hay

      hont sokhay hain phir bhi pyas nahin

      jis ko chaha hay dil-o-jan say saqi

      janay woh kion nazar shinaas nahin
