      کیسے کیسے تھے جزیرے خواب میں
      بہہ گئے سب نیند کے سیلاب میں

      لڑکیاں بیٹھی تھیں پاؤں ڈال کر
      روشنی سی ہو گئی تالاب میں

      جکڑے جانے کی تمنّا تیز تھی
      آ گئے پھر حلقۂ گرداب میں

      ڈوبتے سُورج کی نارنجی لیکن
      تیرتی ہے دیدۂ خونناب میں

      وہ تو میرے سامنے بیٹھا تھا___پھر
      کس کا چہرہ نقش تھا مہتاب میں!
