Misconceptions of Hijab
1."Hijab is a symbol of ‘male dominance’"
Hijab is an act of submission.Like any other act of worship, the rewards of Hijab come only when it is done for Allah alone.
2."Hijab is a ‘cultural thing’"
Women all across the world, from every ethnic background, wear Hijab. Do all of these women cling to old cultural practices? Since the purpose of Hijab is to please Allah, doing it for tradition is wrong.
3."Hijab is a ‘challenge to the political system"
Hijab may have political implications, as evident in the banning of Hijab in certain countries, Muslim women who choose to practice Hijab are not doing it to challenge the political system.
4. "I don't have to"
Many muslim women think that its an option to wear the hijab. It's not. You have to wear it in islam.
5. "I can't get married with hijab on"
A large number of Muslim girls use the excuse that they will wear hijab after marriage, because they think that not wearing hijab will help them to get married more easily.
