Indian schools mourn deaths of Peshawar children

Hundreds of thousands of children in schools across India observed two minutes silence on Wednesday to express their grief over the Peshawar massacre

Children sporting black bands stood in silence, many of them carrying placards expressing solidarity with the people of Pakistan in their hour of suffering.
"We are protesting against the Taliban attack in Peshawar where schoolchildren lost their lives. We are very saddened because we are also students and we share their pain and grief," said Rahul Sharma, a student in Vadodara.

Students from some schools in Delhi are also set to participate in a protest march in Connaught Place, the heart of the city, later in the day.
Schools across the country joined in the show of solidarity following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal over Twitter to observe two minutes silence over the Taliban terror attack on an army-run school killing 132 children.
Prime Minister Modi, earlier on Tuesday, also had a telephonic conversation with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif and offering deepest condolences.
"India stands firmly with Pakistan in fight against terror. Told PM Sharif we are ready to provide all assistance during this hour of grief," he added.
Modi also hoped that the children who had witnessed the horrific attack and loss of their friends would overcome this trauma through counselling.
